Entergy Shares Cost Savings Practice

Entergy worked with its strategic partner, Xerox, and recently moved to a managed print environment branded as the Print Smart Campaign. Prior to the campaign, Entergy had over 4,000 print devices company-wide and consumed over 126 million pages a year, which requires 18,000 trees to produce. Entergy’s Print Smart Campaign, a green initiative to efficiently deliver high-quality print services, was able to:

  • Save approximately $1-3 million annually by reducing the number of printers that must be maintained and supported
  • Improve efficiency by providing faster devices with more of the capabilities employees need (scan-2-e-mail, 2-sided print, secure print)
  • Contribute to environmental sustainability through “greener” printing practices (use of eco-friendly devices that use less power, require less space and fewer supplies, elimination of cover pages)
Entergy’s environmental impact by reducing the total print volume resulted in:
  • 258 tons of wood saved
  • Reduction of 1,855,008 gallons of waste water
  • 2,727 millions of BTUs reduced
  • Reduction of 511,259 lbs. of GHG Emissions
