The work of the Alliance is accomplished through working teams, comprised of volunteers from the Alliance member utilities and other interested parties. Category working teams have been formed to develop environmental best practices and metrics for major categories of electric utility purchases. Other working teams have been formed to define best practices and to support the operations of the alliance.
The following working teams are among those that have been established to date:
Be Green Best Practices and Metrics – integrate into supply chain operations, procurement and supplier management processes
Supplier Survey – common environmental survey tool for suppliers
Poles – category working team; initial focus on wood poles
Transformers – category working team; initial focus on liquid-immersed, medium-voltage, single-phase transformers
Wire and Cable – category working team
Communications – make activities of the Alliance known and encourage feedback from stakeholders
Governance – develop and maintain bylaws and foster external perspective and guidance
NGO Engagement - develop and maintain relationships with interested NGOs and solicit their input and feedback on the Alliance work
Supplier Education- to inform and support the sustainability education of our suppliers and encourage open communications and feedback from stakeholders
